OBSTETRICIAN/GYNECOLOGIST
The Millennium Obstetrical Group is looking for a qualified Obstetrician/Gynecologist to join us for
obstetrical and emergency gynecology call.
Our group consists of ten OBGYNs working from three different clinic spaces: Millennium Healthcare,
Sherbrook Street Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Women’s Hospital Ambulatory Care Clinic. We share
call for our collective obstetrical inpatients, as well as for outside calls and transfers into HSC from the
catchment area of rural and northern Manitoba, Northwest Ontario and Nunavut. Gynecology call is part
of a much larger Acute Care Gynecology Care group that looks after general gynecology inpatients and
provides gynecologic consultative and inter-facility transfer services to Emergency Departments at HSC,
community hospitals in Winnipeg, regional centers in Manitoba and parts of Nunavut and Northwest
Ontario.
Remuneration is derived from both on-call stipends and fee-for-service billing. On-call is stipended at a
rate of approximately $2,300 for obstetrical call and $2,100 for gynecology call per 24-hour period. Fee
for service billing applies in addition to the base stipends. Call is supported by resident coverage, with the
expectation for on call teaching as well as a small amount of didactic and community clinic teaching.
As part of community gynecology call, gynecologic surgical time will be available via emergency surgery
booking and scramble slates. Elective gynecologic surgical opportunities will initially be available
through scramble slates and emergency procedures. Additional surgical time can be formally requested
through the Departmental OR Committee as surgical gynecologic practise is established.
Since the hospital is a teaching centre, the application process is a dual application for appointment to the
Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Health Sciences with the expectation of
involvement in clinical and didactic undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
We are committed to fostering an environment of skill-building and mutual learning. We therefore have
developed the concept of a potential “transition to practice” program for a new graduate who was looking
to start practice without a fellowship but with some additional support. Our vision includes formal
mentorship through establishing a practice and practice management. This would be a flexible
arrangement designed to meet the needs of the applicant.
The successful applicant will support a work and learning environment that embraces the Max Rady
College of Medicine’s Equity, Diversity and inclusion (EDI) policies. With that in mind, applications
should include a statement on the applicant’s current or planned contributions to EDI initiatives. We
welcome applications from people who reflect the diversity of the community that we serve, including
those with marginalized gender identities, racialized and Indigenous people, people with disabilities, and
members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community.
Start date: Negotiable
Application Deadline: November 30, 2026
Please include a Cover Letter and CV with your application.
