EMERGENCY MEDICINE SPECIALIST – BOUNDARY TRAILS HEALTH CENTRE
Southern Health-Santé Sud is welcoming applications from physicians who are passionate about providing emergency medicine services at the Boundary Trails Health Centre (BTHC), located between the cities of Winkler and Morden, Manitoba.
Morden and Winkler are two of Manitoba’s fastest growing communities, offering the perfect balance of opportunity and quality of life. Located just over an hour from Winnipeg and only minutes from the U.S. border, the region blends small town comfort with easy access to major centres.
Our department is funded for 36 physician hours per day, ensuring double coverage during peak volumes.
• 12 hours of double coverage daily.
• Shift Structure: A mix of 8, 10, and shorter overlapping shifts to manage patient flow effectively.
• Start dates and EFT are fully flexible to match your availability.
BTHC benefits from strong on call specialty support, including:
• Anesthesia
• General Surgery
• Obstetrics
• Orthopedics
• Radiology
• Respiratory Therapy is available on-site Monday to Friday daily, providing essential expertise for patients with acute or complex respiratory needs.
BTHC is the largest regional health centre in Southern Health Santé Sud; a 94 bed acute care facility that serves a population of 40,000–50,000 people across the Winkler-Morden region. Our hospital offers a full spectrum of services, including:
• Cancer care
• Diagnostics including MRI, CT, lab & x-ray
• Dialysis
• Emergency care
• Inpatient medicine and special care unit
• Mental Health
• Palliative care
• Rehabilitation services (physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech language pathology, audiology)
Qualifications:
• Medical Degree, CCFP (or equivalent), FRCPC or CCFP (EM)
• Current licensure or eligible for full license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba
• US Applicants: American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM) certification is fully recognized in Manitoba
• ATLS, ACLS, PALS, Airway course, Procedural sedation (must be obtained within 6 months of start date) for physicians with CCFP designation
• Point of Care Ultrasound (within 2 years of start date)
Compensation
• In accordance with the Manitoba Health/Doctors Manitoba Agreement, $258.08 - $453.21/hour based on timing of shift.
