Description:
Shared Health (1502-155 Carlton Street, Winnipeg MB, R3C 5R9), Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA) and The University of Manitoba, Department of Surgery (business addresses noted below), are inviting applications for a Urologist to fill our labour shortage in Manitoba.   Main job duties include diagnose and treatment of diseases, prescribing medications and treatment, ordering lab tests and x-rays and other diagnostic procedures, consulting with other physicians as required, which job duties encompass 70% of the position.  

The successful candidate would also be eligible for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, and appointed as a geographical full-time member of the Max Rady College of Medicine, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Manitoba, which job duties encompasses 30% of the position. Job duties are required in English.

The position encompasses inpatient and ambulatory patient care responsibilities and requires individuals with clinical and teaching skills to further the aims of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research, and tertiary care medicine. The candidate will be expected to conduct independent research and supervise post-graduate trainees conducting research.  The position will be located primarily at St. Boniface Hospital, with secondary responsibility at other sites within the region.  

Qualifications:
The successful candidate must hold a Doctor of Medicine Degree with specialization in Urology.  The successful candidate must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba.   

Applicants will have fellowship training in endourology and minimally invasive surgery.  Clinical research is an expectation.  Additional post-graduate training in education or research would be an asset.  Additional skills including advanced degrees would be beneficial; a commitment to education, research and/or other academic pursuits is desirable.  

Compensation:
Compensation is based on a minimum income guarantee of $500,000/annual.
